Going on a date when you have kids is sometimes just impossible. In our case, we don’t have a lot of family around where we live and my husband isn’t ready to leave our kids with a sitter. but I also feel like dating is important to keep a marriage fresh.
A “date” doesn’t have to cost you’re an arm and leg. It also doesn’t mean you have to leave the house. Here are a few ways to just spend quality time with your spouse. After all time spent together it really all that matters.
Popcorn and a movie: Sounds Cleshay right? Well, it’s my husband and I’s favorite way to spend time together. We get the kids to bed and hit the couch with popcorn and an amazon prime movie it’s the perfect way to just spend quality time together and not have to spend a fortune on a sitter and movie tickets.
Late night dinner: Sometimes I make the kiddos a quick dinner and get them to bed, and then me and the MR have a romantic dinner just the two of us. Usually, I make his favorite meal, but sometimes he grabs dinner from our favorite BBQ place and we enjoy it at home.
Give your spouse a massage: After a long day at work what better way to say I appreciate you and love you than a nice massage to end a long day?
Game Night: Have a night of just fun silly old games. Anything from poker to Monopoly. Just have fun spending time together.
Watch a game: Does your significant other like sports? If so, watch a game with them. My husband isn’t a fan of football, but I am. I am a hardcore Florida Gator girl. My favorite date night with my husband is at home eating and watching football together just him and me.
The point is you don’t have to go out or spend a lot of money to have a date with your significant other. Sometimes having kids, working long hours, or just being apart can put a strain on a marriage. Just spend time with your partner and let them know that you love them.
