Before we get to how you make money blogging I want to make this clear blogging isn’t fast money. These bloggers you see making thousands of dollars a month I can guarantee you they have done it for a while. They just didn’t start a blog and within a month start making thousands.
Bloggers work hard. It takes a lot of time to come up with content. You can’t just throw anything old thing up there and expect people to read it. Now here are some ways to make money blogging for new bloggers.
The most popular way to make money blogging is AdSense. Adsense is where you allow Google to place ads on your blog. The ads are random, but unless you have a lot of traffic don’t expect this to make very much.I do not recommend new Bloggers rely on Adsense. This is an advertising source you set and forget. In the beginning you usually only make pennies if that.
There are others like Beacon Ads, Federated Media, and Infolinks. These types of income sources should not be your main revenue source. It takes a long time to gain the readers you need to make a steady income from these sources.
Have you ever noticed a “button” on the sidebar of a blog advertising another blog or business? Those are private ads. They are basically the same as a display ad the only difference is you’re not going through an ad-service or the “middle man”. usually this is done for a flat rate which depends on what your monthly page views are.
The key to personal ads is being clear on what you are willing to offer and what the advertiser is looking for. Always keep detailed emails and make your intentions clear, when you will be paid, and how much you’re going to be paid.
Be sure not to undervalue your site. Check around with other bloggers that are about the same size as you, and see what they are charging from there you should be able to come up with a fair figure. Tweet: If you don’t value your time why should others?
A Sponsored post is just that a post that make that is sponsored by a company/ brand. Sometimes it’s for a free item and sometimes it’s compensated by cash.
The key to a sponsored post is being up front and letting your readers know that it’s sponsored. I also recommend not filling you entire blog with sponsored post. I suggest only doing 1-2 a month. You don’t want to turn your readers off.
Make sure you stay true to your blog. For example, If you write about dogs DO NOT post about kids or toothpaste. If it doesn’t fit you blog turn it down. Also, don’t say you love a product and don’t. Be honest. A sponsored post isn’t worth losing your credibility.
A product review is when a company gives you a product to review and usually one to give away. In addition to Sometimes bloggers also charge for hosting the giveaway and writing a review.
Be very selective on what items you accept as a review, because you are still required to pay taxes on the free items you receive. If you don’t’ truly want to try the product or like the product don’t agree to review it. Also, have a minimum value that all items must meet or exceed. I suggest 50.00$ even as a newer blogger.
You know those links that take you to Amazon or a similar site when most other bloggers or I recommend a product in a post? Those are Affiliate links. Which means the blogger either makes a percentage of that sale OR a set amount for a click. You can also use affiliate links on your sidebar.
There you have it ways to make money Blogging as a beginner. Be sure you keep your day job because the money won’t just come rolling in. It will take a lot and I mean a LOT of time, but if you have the drive you will get there. There are other ways for a more seasoned blogger to make money, and that will be in an upcoming post.
